Micah Scott teaches private guitar, plays rock and classical guitar professionally and is the full time guitar instructor at JAM.  Micah cut his teeth performing in clubs, pubs and outdoor festivals of upstate NY and Vermont starting at the age of 16.  Performing on guitar and lead vocals, his improvisational rock band developed a strong regional following.

The pursuit of musical knowledge led him to the classical guitar, which he studied at the Crane School of Music.  During his time as a student he played for world renown classical guitar performers and learned immensely from the masters.  In 2000, while a student in Potsdam NY, Micah started teaching at the local guitar shop.  There he began to develop his ideas of teaching the fundamentals of music through the use pop and rock music.  To more advanced students, Micah passes on his skills of improvisation and classical guitar.  Micah maintains a career as both an educator and performer.  In addition to classical guitar he also enjoys performing on bass and electric guitar in a variety of genres.
